Ballhawks Fees to Increase

Several factors have forced the Chatham Ballhawks Volleyball Club to make fee increases for the 2011-2012:

1. On July 25, 2011 the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) Board of Directors passed a motion to remove the gate entrance fee charged to spectators at Ontario Championships for 2012. This decision was made based on the feedback of previous Ontario Championship participants and their families, and their concerns and recommendations regarding the gate fee charged since the current open style Provincial Championship format was introduced in 2008.

This decision will assist the OVA with “showcasing the sport for Ontarians” – a key message of the OVA Strategic Plan. By removing gate fee, individuals who were unable to attend the event due to financial constraints are now able to attend all events – free of charge.

To offset the loss in revenue from the gate at the Provincials the OVA 2012 Ontario Championship tournament entry fee charged to teams will increase from $650 to $900 per team (plus HST) for three (3) day tournaments.

2. OVA regular season tournament fees have increased from $262 to $290 for each 13U, 14U, 15U & 16UB competition and to $300 (from $262) for each 16UG, 17U & 18U competition.
